The Matasa Fellows Network is delighted to announce that new fellowships will be awarded in 2017. The theme of the 2017 competition is Youth Employment and Private Sector Growth in Africa. Applications are now closed.
The Network will support young African researchers in producing high quality research synthesis papers and related policy briefs that have a strong policy and practice orientation. The papers will be disseminated via publication in a special issue of the IDS Bulletin.
Launched in 2015, the network seeks to develop a cohort of young African researchers with the skills and commitment to engage in policy-oriented research around the challenges of young people and employment in Africa. Its aim is to contribute to the development of outstanding young researchers who will ultimately become established policy researchers in their chosen fields. In 2016, the Network awarded 10 fellowships and successfully supported each fellow to develop research relevant to policy and practice.
